I told him I didn’t know and I wouldn’t be sure until someone actually tested it out and showed me the results.

Well I did a quick search online and couldn’t find anything, so I decided to test this out myself… My findings so far have been very revealing.

I began testing this on Friday, September 9, 2011. As I’m writing this it is Tuesday, September 14, 2011. It’s been only about four days since I began this experiment but I’m already seeing lots of movement on the search engines and the results are becoming clear.

Before I show you the results, let me show you first what the “rules” for this experiment were…

The Rules for This Experiment Were:

#1) I had to use only two anchor text backlinks and they both had to link to the same domain and webpage

#2) Both anchor text backlinks had to be something extremely out of the ordinary that no one searches for (this was to see the fastest results and wouldn’t have to wait long)

#3) Both anchor text backlinks had to be on the same page of each other (if each of them were being built on separate domains or webpages the results wouldn’t be accurate)

#4) The backlinks could be automated or manually built

For that last one I decided to completely automate it. I could have built the links myself but that would have taken too much time. I needed something fast, reliable and that wouldn’t break all the four rules above.

The best candidate in my toolbox for this experiment was none other than The Link Juicer.

With The Link Juicer I could have two anchor text backlinks leading to the same domain with different anchor text and would also all be on the same page of each other.

Here are the keywords and domain I decided to conduct this test with…

The domain: www.DarioMontesdeOca.com

Keyword 1: “the most interesting thing about dario”

Keyword 2: “is dario really crazy about backlinks?”

I completely made up both of these “keywords” and I’m pretty sure no one in the world searches for these. The reason I picked these keywords is because I needed keywords that had minimum competition so I could see the results as fast as possible.

And as I’m about to show you, I’ve already gotten results in less than four days (probably less because I almost completely forgot about this experiment until I logged into my Link Juicer account).

Here are the screenshots of both search engine keyword results I took on Friday, September 9, 2011:

If you look closely at both screenshots you will see that neither of them have the domain “dariomontesdeoca.com” listed in their results.

Well, after a few days of using The Link Juicer I have received a total of 87 backlinks built so far for this experiment. And boy, did this make a HUGE difference in the search results!

Here are the screenshots I took just a few moments ago for the same keywords above:

For the keyword “the most interesting thing about dario” the domain I was targeting is sitting at #1 in the search results.

On the second screenshot you don’t see my target domain at all… BUT, take a closer look at the #2, #3, and #4 search results.

You can see my keyword “is dario really crazy about backlinks?” in the description in bold for all three of those results. Those are the backlinks that The Link Juicer built for me on autopilot! And they’re all sitting right below my domain www.BestBacklinksEver.com.

My target Url (www.DarioMontesdeOca.com) is still nowhere to be seen in the second screenshot for “is dario really crazy about backlinks?”, but here’s something that (maybe) could’ve made the difference…

In the Link Juicer campaign that I set up for this experiment I placed the keyword “the most interesting thing about dario” ABOVE the keyword “is dario really crazy about backlinks?”.

I’m not sure if this has made a difference or not. Keyword placement is another test I’ll be doing in the near future. I’ll conduct another test just like the one above and post the results here on this blog, but next time I’ll see if placing the backlink ABOVE or BELOW with different anchor text makes a difference in search results.
